See Charleston's Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens, America's most photographed plantation. You'll tour the mansion, see the slave cabins, and visit the beautiful gardens; and Savannah's American Prohibition Museum, bringing the roaring 20s to life. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the narrow, oak-lined streets in picturesque Beaufort and sightseeing trolley tours in both Savannah and Jekyll Island. All the picturesque scenery and rich historic opportunities, really make this southern tour a vacation of a lifetime!

Itinerary:

Day 1: Flight from Rapid City to Savannah, GA.
Welcome to Savannah where we spend the next 3 nights.. On your arrival you will be met at the baggage carousel and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Savannah, GA – Sightseeing
A full day at leisure to explore this beautiful city. We recommend strolling through Forsyth Park, spending time at the Telfair Museum of Art, window shopping on Broughton Street, or touring the Mercer Williams House Museum—made famous in the book and movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Enjoy a TROLLEY TOUR led by a Local Guide who will entertain you with stories of the city's colorful characters and past. Your tour ends at the AMERICAN PROHIBITION MUSEUM, where there's time to explore the various exhibits, interact with costumed guides.

Day 3: Savannah, GA to Jekyl Island and back to Savannah, GA
Today we visit nearby St. Simons Island, home to beautiful beaches and charming communities. Continue to Jekyll Island for a guided TROLLEY TOUR of the Club Historic District. A cluster of 19th-century mansions, this "club" was formed by some of America's most prominent families. Your tour includes a visit to one of the most elaborate winter mansions, such as the Rockefellers' Indian Mound. The Jekyll Island Club was built in 1887, and was the winter home of the Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, and Morgan families. After our visit, we drive back to Savannah for overnight.

Day 4: Savannah, GA to Hilton Head (40 miles)
After breakfast it’s just a short ride to the hotel on Hilton Head Island, sometimes referred to as simply Hilton Head, is a Low country resort town and barrier island in Beaufort County, South Carolina, The island is named after Captain William Hilton, who in 1663 identified a headland near the entrance to Port Royal Sound, which he named "Hilton's Head" after himself. The island features 12 miles (19 km) of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean and is a popular vacation destination. Before we arrive at the hotel we will visit the Shelter Cove Towne Center… Shopping and restaurants where you can take lunch.
On arrival at the hotel you are free to explore this beautiful area. until 6.00pm when we board our Sunset Dilphin Cruise...

Day 5: Hilton Head, SC to Charleston, SC via Beaufort, SC
Today we depart on a fascinating 3 hour morning tour in a comfortable, air conditioned EXECUTIVE MOTOR COACH guided by our Island’s expert historians. See Hilton Head Island through the eyes of early explorers and Native Americans. Walk the grounds of a Plantation era home. Visit the oldest standing building on the island located in Revolutionary War era cemetery. Discover Mitchelville - the first self-governed town of former slaves in the U.S. Continue on the Charleston, SC for for overnight.

Day 6: Charleston, SC
After a leisurely breakfast we head to the Visitors Center where we board our motor-coach bound for a
Historic City Tour which culminates in a visit to Boone Hall Plantation, one of America’s oldest working plantations. Enter through the spectacular Avenue of Oaks (think Gone With The Wind), then take a guided tour through the elegant and beautiful mansion. Take a self-guided tour through the original slave cabins. Learn about the African American experience on the Slave Street historic presentation by a knowledgeable guide.
On conclusion we return to the hotel for overnight

Day 7: Charleston, SC to Richmond, VA (422 miles)
After breakfast it's time to head for Richmond, VA where we enjoy our Farewell Supper.

Day 8:: Fly home from Richmond, VA back to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
After breakfast this morning we head to Richmond Airport for your return flight back to the Black Hills of SD.
