Come join us on this wonderful adventure to Glacier National Park and journey on the exciting Road to the Sun. This tour starts in the Black Hills of South Dakota and heads west on I-90 to Bozeman, MT.
We wontinue our journey to Whitefish, MT which will be our hone for the next 3 nights. Explore Glacier National Park and the world famous 'Road to the Sun' with amazing scenery on each turn.
From here we continue aboard the Amtrak Empire Builder Train which takes us to Williston North Dakota.
Great fun and awesome entertainment awaits us in Medora, North Dakota commencing with the 'Pitch Fork Fondue' and followed by the renowned Medora Musical.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Black Hills SD to Bozeman, MT
Today our vacation begins – we travel west on I-90 through to Bozeman, MT Meal and comfort breaks will be taken along the way.
Overnight Bozeman, MT - No meals included

Day 2 - Bozeman, MT to Whitefish, MT
After breakfast we head in a North Westerly direction into the Whitefish Mountains. This will be our home for the next 3 nights.. Whitefish is a resort town in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana. It’s a gateway to the jagged peaks, lakes and glacier-carved valleys of Glacier National Park. Shops and eateries line Central Avenue.

Day 3 - Whitefish, MT - Glacier NP - 'Road to the Sun'
Today we will head towards East Glacier & St Mary and the East Entrance to Glacier National Park and the famous 'Highway to the Sun' highway. Restroom and refreshment stops will be made throughout the day . The spectacular 50-mile road winds over passes, crosses the Continental Divide and travels through incredibly varied terrain, including glacial lakes and jagged cliffs.

This journey will take around 4 to 5 hours before we start our journey back to Whitefish andour home for the night

Day 4 - Whitefish, MT 
Today we explore more of this beautiful part of the country, Flathead Lake area.
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and the 79th largest natural lake in the world.  It is over 27 miles long, 15 miles wide and has over 187 miles of shoreline with a maximum depth of 370 feet. Flathead Lake's waters are renowned for being one the cleanest as well.  
The lake is bordered on the west by the Salish Mountains and the Mission Mountain Range on the east which is a part of the Rocky Mountains.  The highest peak of the Mission Mountains is the glacier studded McDonald Peak at 9868’.  Flathead Lake sits in the shadow of Glacier National Park.

Day 5 - Whitefish, MT to Williston, ND - Amtrak Train
Today it's time to load all baggage onto the Mercedes and drive to the Amtrak Train Station for a full day ride to Williston, North Dakota.
You will have reserved seats on board (Coach Class) or an upgrade to First Class is available and includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. (Supplement of $350pp)- Journey time approximately 10 hours after time change)

Please remember, Stuart will take your luggage with him in the Mercedes so you only need your carry on onboard the train... Wander around the train or take a nap at your convenience. Stuart will be waiting at Williston station to transfer you to your hotel
Overnight Williston, ND - no meals included unless you take the 1st Class upgrade

Day 6 - Williston to Medora, ND
This morning we head south to the little cowboy town of Medora - just 150 miles.
On arrival their will be time for lunch or a little shopping before checking in at our hotel.

We will leave the hotel at 5pm and head up to the Medora Complex for our Pitchfork Fondue. It's buffet style and a great way to enjoy your supper before the wonderful Medora Musical all in the Burning Hills Amphitheater.

After the show we head back to our hotel for overnight.

Day 7 - Medora, ND to Black Hills
It's time to head south to Rapid City, SD with an estimated time of arrival around 4pm

(Passengers flying home from Rapid City would overnight and fly home on the 14th September)
