itinerary:

Day 1 - Spearfish, Sturgis, Rapid City and Wall to Dakota Dunes, SD (474 miles)
Today our journey begins in Spearfish, Sturgis, Rapid City and Wall heading east on I-90 and then south on I-29 to Dakota Dunes. We will make regular stops including a lunch break. Our expected arrival time in Dakota Dunes is late afternoon. There will be time to freshen up at our hotel before supper on your own.

Day 2 - Dakota Dunes, SD to Overland Park, MO (Museum stop in Kearney), MO (340 miles)
Please have your bags in the lobby at 7.30am for an 8am departure. This morning we head south towards Kearney, MO. The James log cabin farmhouse, built in 1822, has witnessed many generations of James family history. It was to this isolated cabin that the Reverend Robert James brought his young wife Zerelda and infant son Frank in 1845. This is where Jesse was born in 1847, and years later, Union soldiers seeking the whereabouts of Frank James, beat Jesse and tortured his stepfather Dr. Reuben Samuel by repeatedly hanging him from a tree in the front yard. Later this afternoon we travel the short distance to Overland Park, MO.

Day 3 - Overland Park, MO to Branson, MO (285 miles)
Please have your bags in the lobby by 7.30am for an 8am departure. This morning after breakfast it’s time to head to Branson where we will arrive early afternoon in time for our first show. After checking into our hotel, it’s time for our 6pm supper at the SS Dockside Café & Pub followed by our first show in Branson. ‘Dublin’s Irish Tenors & Celtic Ladies…’ After the show we return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 4 - Branson
Breakfast is served in the hotel and is available from 7am. Please be ready to leave the hotel at 9.15am and head to the Grand Country Music Hall and our first of three shows today. The Down Home Country Show is where you can sit back and listen to some of the classic country music of yesteryear. After our lunch break it’s time to head to the amazing Sight and Sound Theater to see the struggles and miracles performed by Jesus as they come to Life before Your very eyes. Time for a delicious supper at Charlie’s before we see the Presley’s Country Jubilee Christmas Show. In 1967 they built the first music theatre in Branson. Today, that theater is a Branson Landmark & the Presley family is still entertaining audiences with a one-of-a-kind mix of country, gospel, bluegrass & hilarious comedy! After the show we return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 5 - Branson
Breakfast is served in the hotel and is available from 7am. At 9.15am we leave the hotel and depart for The Brett Family Christmas Show… You’ll feel the joy, nostalgia, the reverence, the fun and all of the best feelings of the season. Widely considered one of Branson’s premier Christmas productions and a must-see for the entire family…Nobody does Christmas like The Bretts.  Lunch break will be at McFarlain's with a little time for shopping before we return to the hotel for a little down time. At 4pm we head for Dolly Parton’s Christmas Stampede… Enjoy a festive feast & see 32 horses with an amazing cast of top notch riders during Dolly’s Christmas Extravaganza. From here we head for our final show in Branson… Yakov Smirnoff and his ‘Make America Laugh Again’. This famous Russian comedian is the right man “To Make America Laugh Again”! Yakov delivers his hilarious insights, conducts a Presidential briefing, gives a heartfelt salute to Lady Liberty and more! After the show we return to our hotel for overnight.

Day 6 - Thu: Branson to St Joseph, MO (280 miles) - Patee House Museum
Please have your bags in the lobby by 7.15am for a 7.30am departure. Today we head back towards Kansas City and St Joseph, MO. We arrive St Joseph early afternoon mid-afternoon. Here we visit the the Patee House Museum and see the place where Jesse James was shot and killed on April 3rd 1883.
Now you have seen where Jesse James grew up and now where he died.

Day 7 - Fri: St Joseph, MO to Norfolk, NE - Sioux Falls, SD (315 miles) via Queen of Peace
Please have your bags in the lobby by 7.30am for an 8am departure. This morning we leave St Joseph, MO and head into Nebraska and the boyhood home of Johnny Carson… The Johnny Carson Gallery opened in September 2002. It contains items that Johnny himself chose to exhibit in his hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska. The gallery is a showcase of Johnny’s formative years, his 30 years on the Tonight Show, and the six Emmys he received during that time. Johnny was born on October 23, 1925 in Corning, Iowa. Although born in Iowa, Johnny moved to Norfolk, NE at age 8 and always considered it his hometown. He graduated from Norfolk Senior High and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. In 1946, he joined the Navy where he entertained many people including the Secretary of the Navy. His career in show business began by performing his magic act for many local organizations in Norfolk! Later, he worked at KFAB Radio in Lincoln, NE and WOW Radio in Omaha, NE before moving to California. He started on The Tonight Show on October 1, 1962 and continued for 30 years until his last show on May 22, 1992. Johnny passed away January 23, 2005. Johnny Carson’s childhood home is located at 306 S. 13th St., Norfolk, NE. It is a private residence, but there is a large sign in the front yard. We check into our hotel and enjoy our Farewell supper.

Day 8 – Norfolk, NE back to the Black Hills of SD – (450 miles)
Please have your bags in the lobby by 7.30am for an 8am departure. Our last day of the tour we head north to I-90 taking our lunch break at Mitchell, SD with a stop at the Holiday Art’s and Christmas Show. After our stop in Mitchell we head west back to the Black Hills of South Dakota making appropriate stops along the way. We expect to have an arrival time of late afternoon.
