Visit York - one of Englands most historic cities - and home to the York Minster and the famous 'shambles' - A visit to York is not complete without experiencing the city's oldest and most famous street - Shambles. York's 'Butcher's Street' was originally known as "Fleshamels", the hamel being a bench which was put outside the shop every morning to display the meat. At No.31 is one of the few original timber framed buildings remaining in Shambles.
The shop features many oak beams c.1400, and even maintains the rail from which meat was hung when it was last a butchers over 75 years ago.
After York we visit London - Britains capital and one of Europes largest cities. Being a diverse and multi-cultural city it has plenty to offer; breathtaking architecture, countless historical sites and a heritage dating back hundreds of years. The next two days, you'll see Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London where you'll be dazzled by the breathtaking Crown Jewels plus much much more.
